Nvidia's CEO Says Software and Apps May Disappear in Coming Years, AI Agents Likely to Become Mainstream
NextFin News -- Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, predicted on Tuesday that traditional software and apps may disappear, and a new software paradigm, the AI Agent, is likely to become mainstream in the coming years.
His prediction was made in a rare lengthy blog post about artificial intelligence, marking his seventh blog essay published since 2016.
In the article, he elucidated the underlying logic of the AI industry and defined the "five-layer architecture" of AI. He stated that the top layer of AI applications is the core area where economic value is generated, encompassing platforms for drug discovery, industrial robots, legal assistants, and autonomous vehicles. This underlying architecture can support various application outputs, and there remains significant room for innovation at the current application layer. Every successful application will pull up every layer beneath it, from models and infrastructure to chips, extending down to the foundational level of power plants, creating a powerful industrial pull effect.
