Qatar Says Iranian Attacks Cause Loss of About $20 Billion, Repairs Could Take Up to Five Years
NextFin News -- Qatar's Minister of Energy and CEO of QatarEnergy, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, said on Thursday that the Iranian attacks have impacted 17% of Qatar's liquefied natural gas (LNG) export capacity, leading to an estimated annual revenue loss of about $20 billion. During a media interview on the same day, Al-Kaabi revealed that the attacks damaged two of the 14 LNG production lines and one of the two gas-to-liquids plants. The associated repair work is expected to result in an annual interruption of 12.8 million tons of LNG production, with the duration anticipated to last between three to five years.
