WeChat Partners With Smartphone Makers to Launch Agent-to-Agent AI System
TMTPOST — Tencent Holdings Ltd.’s flagship application WeChat is collaborating with major smartphone manufacturers to develop an integrated Agent-to-Agent (A2A) artificial intelligence feature, according to official disclosures from customer support on Thursday.
The technology allows users to trigger WeChat functions directly through their smartphone's native voice assistants. Under a dual-authorization security framework, device-level assistants transmit commands to WeChat’s interface to initiate audio calls, video calls, or transmit text messages to specified contacts.
The technical rollout involves partnerships with major Chinese mainland hardware brands, including Huawei Technologies Co., Honor, Xiaomi Corp., Oppo, and Vivo. Selected Honor smartphone models have already deployed the capability via its proprietary "YOYO intelligent agent" software. Operating the feature requires both the smartphone ecosystem and the core WeChat application to be updated to their latest software iterations.
