TMTPOST -- Fang Xinghai, a former vice chairman of China's securities regulator, is being investigated over suspected “serious violations of discipline and law,” according to China's state media. The probe is the latest effort by Chinese President Xi Jinping’ to stamp out corruption in the finance sector. Last September, Chinese authorities started a probe into former CSRC chief Yi Huiman, while Zhou Liang, a vice minister of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, was investigated in March, also for “serious violations of discipline and law,” a phrase commonly used for alleged corruption.
