Hong Kong IPO Fundraising Hits $41 Billion, Tops Full-Year 2025
TMTPOST — Hong Kong’s IPO market has raised $41 billion so far in 2026, exceeding the full-year 2025 total of $39.5 billion, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing chief executive Bonnie Chan said Tuesday.
Speaking at an event in Kuala Lumpur, Chan noted that the year-to-date figure as of early August already surpasses last year’s aggregate proceeds from 120 listings and that the exchange expects another record year. She attributed the rebound to global capital rotating back toward Asia, particularly China, as investors seek diversification after prolonged concentration in U.S. markets.
Chan encouraged Malaysian companies to consider Hong Kong listings to access mainland Chinese investors and deeper liquidity pools. She highlighted recent examples of non-China-focused issuers, including a Dubai-based consumer-goods company and an Indonesian gold miner, that successfully listed in the city, signaling broader geographic appeal.
