Huawei Licenses Its Wifi Patents to HP
TMTPOST -- China's tech giant Huawei and U.S.-headquartered HP Inc. on Wednesday announced the signing of a multiyear global patent cross-licensing agreement that permits HP Inc. to use Huawei's certain patents, including its Wi-Fi patents.
The intellectual property cooperation agreement marks a milestone for Shenzhen-based Huawei as it recognizes the telecom leader's innovation capabilities and core technological strength. HP is a global leader in computers and peripheral equipment.
Alan Fan, Huawei's Chief Intellectual Property Officer, made remarks on the signing of the deal.
"Huawei is pleased to reach this patent cross-licensing agreement with HP Inc. This agreement is a strong testament to Huawei's persistent independent innovation in cutting-edge fields in Information and Communications Technology (ICT)," said Fan, adding that through patent licensing, Huawei shares its innovation with the industry, particularly in the area of standardized technologies, which brings leading technological experiences to consumers worldwide.
