XPENG Targets 2027 Europe Approval for Second-Generation VLA
TMTPOST — XPENG Group Chairman He Xiaopeng said Thursday he expects the company to secure regulatory approval in Europe in 2027 and begin delivering its second-generation VLA system to more overseas users.
“We very much look forward to competing directly with the world’s leading intelligent assisted-driving systems,” He wrote in a post. He added that on major roads the second-generation VLA already matches top global products, while performance is stronger in complex scenarios such as narrow roads, campuses and parking lots, including navigation directly to a parking space.
The company has been accelerating global deployment of the system and recently completed localization testing in Germany, where real-world experience closely matched that in China with little additional local training data.
