TMTPOST — NetEase’s CC Live streaming platform formally ceased operations at 15:00 on Aug. 31, the company confirmed. The shutdown followed an earlier notice citing adjustments to product development and operating strategy. Download channels, recharges, new user registrations and new streamer or guild onboarding had already been closed at the end of June. Servers and the official website were taken offline at the same time as the final cessation of service. Unused paid virtual currency in user accounts was converted into NetEase points at a set ratio for continued use in other NetEase games. CC Live originated as a game-voice product in 2009 and was rebranded as a live-streaming platform in 2016.
