Fosun Pharma Plans Up to HK$1 Billion H-Share Buyback
TMTPOST — Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd. said Sunday it plans to repurchase H-shares with an aggregate amount of up to HK$1 billion over the 12 months starting Aug. 27, 2026.
The board approved the plan under an existing general mandate granted by shareholders. Repurchased shares may be cancelled or held as treasury shares, subject to market conditions and regulatory requirements. The company said the buyback reflects confidence in its intrinsic value and long-term prospects.
Funding will come mainly from the recent disposal of about 6% of Gland Pharma shares for a total consideration of approximately US$294 million. After the sale, Fosun Pharma remains the controlling shareholder of Gland Pharma with a stake of about 45.76%, and the Indian unit continues to be consolidated in the group’s accounts.
