Yan, born in 1991 and a Fudan University graduate, previously served as a partner at GL Ventures (Hillhouse). He earlier worked at Tencent Investment and H Capital and has been involved in investments including MiniMax, Zhipu AI and ByteDance. He reported for duty this week. The appointment comes as DeepSeek advances its second funding round and related capital preparations, including LP screening and work with advisers on potential listing plans.
