Manus Parent Butterfly Effect Raises Over $500 Million
TMTPOST — Butterfly Effect, the parent company of AI agent developer Manus, has completed a new financing round exceeding $500 million, the company announced on October 8.
The round was led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital, with existing shareholders Tencent, HongShan and ZhenFund participating. Reports describe it as one of the largest single funding rounds for a domestic AI agent or application company. The financing is the first disclosed by Manus since it resumed independent operations on September 1 following the unwind of an earlier acquisition agreement with Meta Platforms and a subsequent share buyback.
Manus recently released version 2.0 and a personal AI agent application called Cue. The company said recruitment continues for both domestic and overseas roles, and it is advancing product development for the Chinese market in cooperation with local model providers. Some reports have linked the round to a valuation of around $4 billion, though the company itself has not disclosed a valuation figure.
