TMTPOST — DeepSeek announced that its API now supports web search and page fetching, billed at 5 yuan per 1,000 successful requests. The Search interface returns structured results from queries while the Fetch interface retrieves individual webpages as Markdown text containing titles and body content. Both use DeepSeek’s proprietary search engine and share the same authentication as the main API. Only requests that return HTTP 200 with non-empty results are charged; failures, empty searches and timeouts incur no fee. Users accessing the Search and Fetch interfaces through server-side tool calls in DeepSeek Harness, Claude Code or Codex currently face no charges. Billing for these calls will begin at 00:00 Beijing time on November 1, 2026.
